PASTOR HAS EMPLOYEE FIRED--SHAME ON YOU!

Pastor Who Left Sanctimonious Tip Gets Waitress Fired from Applebee's, Claims Her Reputation Was Ruined

Hell hath no fury like a pastor scorned by the Internet.

After a copy of her Applebee's receipt began circulating online yesterday, Pastor Alois Bell of the St. Louis-based Truth in the World Deliverance Ministries phoned up the restaurant and asked to have everyone involved fired.
Pastor Who Left Sanctimonious Tip Gets Waitress Fired from Applebee's, Claims Her Reputation Was Ruined
"My heart is really broken," the 37-year-old told The Smoking Gun. "I've brought embarrassment to my church and ministry."
Last Friday, after evening services, Bell and her congregation headed to Applebee's for dinner as they did on many nights.
But a disagreement over the establishment's auto-gratuity of 18% for parties of 8 or more would soon propel the pastor to the heights of Internet infamy.
"I give God 10% why do you get 18," Bell wrote on her credit card receipt after crossing out the tip amount she was obliged to pay.

Screw this Pastor (once again using religion to feel superior & receive special treatment--yuk!)
--TYPICAL sanctimonious behavior--you play nasty/sarcastic than you gotta live with the consequences.
You're a Pastor but hardly an adult, OBVIOUSLY!
--make dinner at home if tips bother you-
-btw, your churches are tax exempt--that waitress' salary isn't
--and btw, get a freakin' sense of humor--you would have come out looking better
--shame on APPLEBEES for firing the employee--she needs an apology from this stupid pastor, her tip & her job back

Last Andrews Sister, Patty, dies at 94

Los Angeles (CNN) -- "Patty Andrews, the last surviving member of the Andrews Sisters, died at her Northridge, California, home Wednesday, her publicist Alan Eichler said.
She was 94.
The Andrews Sisters began singing on Minnesota radio stations in the 1920s, but after several years on the Vaudeville circuit they began a recording career that made them one of the most successful female groups ever.

One of their biggest hits was "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," which became a World War II anthem. The Recording Industry of America Association and the National Endowment for the Arts placed it as the sixth on its "Songs of the Century" list in 2001..."

Les Misérables (2012)

Les Misérables (2012)-In 19th-century France, Jean Valjean, who for decades has been hunted by the ruthless policeman Javert after he breaks parole, agrees to care for factory worker Fantine's daughter, Cosette. The fateful decision changes their lives forever.

TOO LONG & ALL THAT DAMN SINGING!

I COULDN'T WAIT FOR IT TO BE OVER!

It is ironic I say this with such aplomb because when it was on Broadway I saw it 4 times and loved it!

When translating a Broadway piece you need the right director for that specific transition.

Sometimes it works: "Chicago", "Gypsy", "Funny Girl" and others.

Sometimes it bombs: "Rent", "A Chorus Line" and now "Les Miz".

I adore Tom Hooper. He directed one of my all time favorite movies, "The King's Speech". Sadly here he missed the mark. The casting, costumes and cinematography were good. I think he wanted the audience to see this as a literal historical piece & it came off as a fantasy; whereupon, he asked of us too much suspension from reality. In the theater, it's easier to do that.

I kept thinking that Buz Luhrmann ("Moulin Rouge") would have presented the script as a fantasy & I would have been more on board. Hooper kept me at a disconnect from his intent & it's translation. Ironically, Luhrmann is directing the upcoming "The Great Gatsby" and I think Hooper would be the better director. We'll see.

And who cares that Hopper made the actors sing live on set instead of the traditional prerecorded technique? It was an apparent struggle for some-namely, Russell Crowe. And I loved all the scenes involving women in the factories, skid row, etc. Additionally, nominating Anne Hathaway with minimal screen time seems unfair (don't get me wrong, it wasn't as bad as Judi Dench getting an Oscar for 8 min. in "Shakespeare in Love", but close). It just pisses me off.  Hathaway has gotten all the awards & will get the Osacr but I think others deserved it best. I love Hathaway but...

No one has really mentioned Samantha Barks in "Les Miz"-she was superb!

All in all it wasn't the hit I wanted it to be. If Sacha Baron Cohen's Thenardier and Helena Bonham Carter's Madame Thenardier weren't there for levity I think I would have sliced my wrist w/ the ticket stub.

Better luck next time Hopper.

"AMERICAN IDOL"---SEASON 12

HERE WE GO--NOT AGAIN...?

I HOPE I HAVE THE PATIENCE TO PUT UP WITH ALL THE "DIVA-NESS" THIS SEASON.

SOMEONE FORGOT TO TELL MARIAH CAREY & NICKI MINAJ THAT THE SHOW IS NOT, NOT, NOT ABOUT THEM!!!
PLEASE SEND THEM THE MEMO ASAP...
(ACCORDING TO "ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY", IDOL'S RATINGS CONTINUE TO PLUMMET).
THIS IS THE WORSE COMBINATION OF JUDGES YET. JLO WE MISS YOU!

IN PAST SEASONS:

WE HAVE BEEN SUBJECTED TO BELOW AVERAGE CONTESTANTS WHERE WE WONDERED "OK WHICH ONE IS NOT SOOOO BAD?'.

OR

WE HAVE BEEN PRIVILEGED TO  HAVE SEEN SO MANY POTENTIAL SUPERSTARS THAT WE WONDERED, HOW DO YOU CHOOSE THE BEST FROM THIS CREAM OF THE CROP?.

BUT ALWAYS-ALWAYS- IT WAS ABOUT THE CONTESTANTS.
EVEN PAULA ABDUL'S RAMBLINGS & GAFFES WERE "My old aunt got drunk at the party again" BY NATURE.
THE CLOSEST THING RESEMBLING  THIS SEASON'S OBNOXIOUS BEHAVIOR WAS SIMON COWELL; AND FRANKLY, I'D RATHER BE SITTING BETWEEN HIM & HIS ENORMOUS EGO THAN BETWEEN THESE TWO (UHUM) LADIES.

(TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THE SIGNIFICANCE & VALUE OF THE EDITING PROCESS IN ALL THESE REALITY SHOWS. BEFORE "IDOL" EVEN  PREMIERED, THE BUZZ AND ENDLESS CLIPS OF CAREY & MINAJ  AT EACH OTHER'S THROAT HAD MANY PERCHED TO  WATCH, JUST TO SEE WHEN THESE TWO WILL BITCH SLAP EACH OTHER.  NOW THAT'S AN EDITING JOB I'D LIKE TO SEE).

DAY 1:
--MARIAH CAME OFF AS THE DIVA SHE CLAIMS NOT TO BE. ONE MORE "DAHLING" OR SICKENING HISTRIONIC AND I WAS READY TO SNAP. I KEPT HOPING SOMEONE WOULD PULL OUT HER EXTENTIONS ONE BY ONE---PAINFULLY!
--RANDY (THE "DAWG"--BARF!) WAS TRYING TO CHANNEL SIMON. I GUESS HE FEELS IT'S THE JOB OF THE ELDER STATESMAN OF THE GROUP.
--KEITH URBAN WAS BEIGE (NEVER A COMPLIMENT FROM A GAY MAN) --SURPRISINGLY NICKI WAS THE MOST CONSTRUCTIVE WHEN SHE WASN'T ADJUSTING HER BOZO WIG.
BUT AT THE END OF THIS LONG 2 HOURS I WANTED TO POKE MY SLEEPY EYES OUT WITH A SHARP FORK!

DAY 2:
THINGS DID A COMPLETE 180. FOR ONE THING THE 2 HOURS DIDN'T SEEM LIKE 4. --MARIAH HAD AT LEAST ONE LEG OFF HER HIGH HORSE AND WAS ACTUALLY HUMAN (HAS ANYONE CHECKED?) SHE WAS THE KIND & POLITE ONE.
HOWEVER,  MINAJ WAS THE BIGGEST ATTENTION SEEKER SINCE LIBERACE --WITHOUT THE FUNNY CAMP OR TALENT. I HOWLED WHEN ONE OF THE CONTESTANTS CUT MINAJ OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF HER LIVING IN THE "NICKI" SHOW MOMENT TO GIVE CAREY A HEARTFELT COMPLIMENT. IT MUST OF KNOCKED HER THIRD SET OF EYELASHES OFF; OR CRACK THE MIRROR SHE  CONSTANTLY KEEPS IN HER HAND TO SMITHEREENS.
--RANDY WAS STILL CHANNELING SIMON (I GUESS WE'RE STUCK WITH THAT).
-- THE WINNER WAS ACTUALLY KEITH URBAN. HE WAS SINCERE AND HIS SPECIFIC CRITIQUES OF THE CONTESTANTS WERE ON POINT. HE EVEN SHOWED A WONDERFUL SENSE OF HARMLESS SARCASM & SENSE OF HUMOR.

GOD HELP US ALL!

FINALLY MY CONTESTANTS HIGHLIGHTS:

MANY GREAT BACK STORIES-AGAIN. YES I CRIED--F U !

1.OF COURSE THE VIRAL WORLD HAS FOCUSED ON THE GORGEOUS, CUBAN STUTTERER FROM FLORIDA, LAZARO ARBOS. HE DOES NOT STUTTER WHEN HE SINGS -PUT HIM IN THE TOP 10 NOW! HE "WAS" FLAWLESS IN HIS RENDITION OF "BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER".

2.THE AMAZING YOUNG WOMAN WHO ARMED HERSELF WITH CHARMING CHUTZPAH  WHEN SHE ASKED TO DUET "BABY IT'S COLD OUTSIDE" WITH KEITH URBAN.

3. ANOTHER YOUNG WOMAN, BRANDY, AND HER RENDITION OF "YOUR CHEATIN' HEART".

4. CURTIS FINCH, JR. HAS A VOCAL RANGE WHICH I CAN ONLY COMPARE TO WITH WHITNEY HOUSTON--YES THAT GOOD!

5. FROM NY-DAY 1-THE HIGHLY TALENTED FELICIANO GIRL- WHOSE FAMILY ADOPTS SICK ORPHANS.

6. THE QUIRKY ANDROGYNOUS STREET PERFORMER, KASBAN, WHO SANG "PINOCCHIO" (I KNOW, RIGHT?)  AND A HEART WRENTCHING ORIGINAL SONG W/ HER PERFECT GUITAR ACCOMPANIMENT.

7.CHARLIE ASKEW-THE PUREST VOICE YET--GOOSE PIMPLES! WOW! HE WILL BE A STAR!

FINALLY:

8. MY FAVORITE BACK STORY AND PART OF THE NIGHT, (BESIDES THE MULTIPLE EYE CANDY FROM CHICAGO & ITS NEIGHBORING STATES, DAMN THOSE MID-WESTERN BOYS--WHEW!!!), WAS THE GIRL BATTLING ANOREXIA (GET THE KLEENEX).
SHE SANG LIKE AN ANGEL AND LEFT IT ALL ON THE STAGE. HER SOUL IS PURE AND HER VOICE A GIFT TO ALL OF US.
HERE I GOTTA GIVE IT TO MINAJ WHEN SHE SAID THAT SHE AND OTHERS LIFTED "US"--TRUE THAT!

SO YOU SEE I WILL STILL WATCH FOR THE ABOVE 8 REASONS AND THOSE STILL LEFT TO ADMIRE.
BUT MAN I NEED TO MEDITATE TO DEAL WITH THE THE BUZZING FLIES SURROUNDING THE JUDGES TABLE.

WISH ME LUCK!

TWO "IDOL"UPDATE(FEBRUARY 1, 2013):
1--------JUST LIKE LAST SEASON ON AGT, ANOTHER CONTESTANT LIES & IN A MORE DESPICABLE WAY:
It was Matthew Farmer's heartbreaking tale of his service in Iraq as much as his vocal prowess that impressed the "American Idol" judges on Wednesday night.
Now Farmer admits that his claim of a traumatic brain injury from an IED explosion in Iraq was false.
"It was all lies," Farmer, 26, confessed on Guardians of Valor.
TO TOP IT ALL OFF HE BROUGHT IN HIS ADORABLE DAUGHTER--MORE PITY POINTS I'M GUESSING ---TOO BAD YOU'RE ONLY BEAUTIFUL ON THE OUTSIDE!!! SHAME ON YOU! GET HELP!!!

'American Idol' drops again: How low will the ratings go?

When Idol numbers dipped after the show moved from auditions to the Hollywood rounds, that was also to be expected too — the reality veteran’s ratings tend to sag during the middle portion of its run every year.
But Idol is dropping nearly every week and last night was down 50 percent from its Thursday night premiere this season … and that’s scary.

CHRISTIE FAVORS FRACKING (FOR NOW)--YOU?

In New Jersey, Christie Vetoes Anti-Fracking Bill

WHATTA YOU THINK???

_________________________________________________

 By Jim Malewitz, Staff Writer

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie vetoed a bill Friday (September 21) that would have banned the disposal of hydraulic fracturing waste in New Jersey, rankling environmentalists who oppose the method of natural gas extraction and fear that the wastewater it generates taints local water supplies.

“Governor Christie has sold out our drinking water to the fossil fuel industry,” Jeff Tittel, director of the New Jersey Sierra Club, said in a release. “Instead of protecting our waterways he is allowing companies to dump toxic fracking pollution in our waterways.”

The veto by Christie, a Republican, is his second major move against a fracking crackdown.  In 2011, he vetoed an outright ban of the practice, a bill that found wide support in the state’s heavily Democratic legislature.

Hydraulic fracturing isn’t practiced in New Jersey. The state has few proven shale reserves and remains under a moratorium on the practice, which involves the high-pressure injection of millions of gallons of chemical-laced water deep underground to break apart rock and free the resources locked within. But the technique is widely used in neighboring Pennsylvania, which often sends its waste across the border.

Some of that waste is sent to landfills in New Jersey, though it’s not clear how much. Two New Jersey landfills accept the waste, according to the online data tool FracTracker, Much of the waste is sent to Ohio and injected into underground wells, a practice that has been linked to minor earthquakes in the region.
 _________________________________________________________________________
TODAY:
At a news conference in Long Branch today, Christie said the bill was "simply unconstitutional" because there is no potential for fracking in New Jersey. So in practice, he said, a ban would only hurt other states even though it also forbids it in state.

"This is another one of those political bills," Christie said. "They know that it's wrong and they send it anyway because they think, 'Well, he won't veto it because that would take some guts.' Well, I did."

DEAR ABBY DIES (SHE WAS ALIVE?)-R I P -94

"CNN) -- Pauline Phillips, better known to millions of newspaper readers for decades as the Dear Abby advice columnist, has died after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease, her family said Thursday.
She died Wednesday in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at age 94.
Phillips' columns were published in an era when newspaper readers began to prize straight-talking, pithy advice about marriages, children, jobs -- just about anything that troubled people.
Phillips wrote under the pen name of Abigail Van Buren, shortened to "Dear Abby" in newspapers. "Abigail" was taken from the wise woman in the Old Testament and "Van Buren" was one of her favorite presidents.
The first Dear Abby column appeared in 1956, and Phillips continued writing the advice feature until 2000...

KENTUCKY TOWN (VICCO) SUPPORTS LGBT

ENCOURAGING!!!

With a population of just 334 residents, Vicco, Kentucky

(Latitude:37° 2157' North
Longitude:83° 0616' West   --- in the USA)

is believed to be the smallest municipality in the U.S. to approve an LGBT-inclusive anti-discrimination ordinance.

The little Appalachian town is the first in the state to do so in the past decade.

Let's congratulate the citizens and community leaders of Vicco for passing their "Fairness Ordinance." (via LGBTQ Nation)

Vicco becomes Kentucky's fourth municipality to pass such an ordinance, following Lexington, Louisville, and Covington.

"Vicco is a community that believes all folks should be treated fairly," said Vicco city attorney Eric Ashley. "We believe everyone deserves the opportunity for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Fairness is a Kentucky value, a Vicco value, and one of our most American values."
