Using a portfolio of six models who range from sizes 6-14, they aim to provide a more realistic idea of how something will actually look. The site provides a detailed description of each model's measurements, and it features photos of all six in the site's selection of offerings.

Of course, there are countless body types, and not every single one can be represented here. However, it is refreshing to see how one piece of clothing looks on a bunch of different, real women, and to have at least some of the guesswork taken out of buying something online.."

On Monday night, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute gala, there were ball gowns, leg slits, white ties and trains. Lots of trains.

“The Met Gala is that one event where you can be artistic as you want when it comes to fashion,” said the actress Zoe Saldana, in a dress by Michael Kors. “You don’t have to worry about hit-or-miss. You just enjoy the artistry of the fashion.”

And plenty did. There was Rihanna in a white crop top and puckered skirt from Stella McCartney and Beyoncé in a plunging V-neck, long-sleeve gown from Givenchy, complete with a veil over her head. Sarah Jessica Parker, meanwhile, went for an Oscar de la Renta ensemble that included the designer’s signature on the back of her dress.

The gala this year honored the British-born designer Charles James, who revolutionized American fashion in the mid-20th century, and the longtime Vogue editor Anna Wintour.

'From the Closet to the Catwalk' explores fashion through a queer lens

This fall, Valerie Steele, director of the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology, and her co-curator, Fred Dennis, set out to expose the vital, if sometimes unsung, contributions the queer community has made to the fashion industry. “What people will find is that there is a multitude of gay aesthetics,” says Steele of their exhibit A Queer History of Fashion: From the Closet to the Catwalk, which includes everything from Versace’s leather bondage dresses (a nod to backroom debauchery), Gaultier’s conical bras and skirts for men (a camp take on sexual politics), Saint Laurent’s tuxedos for women (which helped put androgyny on the map), and an 18th-century dandy’s suit worthy of Oscar Wilde.

The show’s timely coda features a selection of same-sex wedding ensembles. Ultimately, Steele and Dennis see it as a more accurate portrayal of fashion’s past, which has too often been scrubbed clean of any sexuality. “By deliberately acknowledging what gay people have done for fashion,” Steele says, “we’re shedding a whole new light on the subject.” Opens September 13.

 Plane carrying Missoni fashion director found off Venezuela

(CNN) -- Nearly six months after it went missing off Venezuela's coast, authorities have located the small plane that was carrying Italian fashion boss Vittorio Missoni and five others, the country's Interior Ministry announced Thursday.

The aircraft disappeared on January 4 as it left Los Roques, an archipelago and resort, for the international airport outside Caracas, about 90 miles away. Vittorio Missoni, his wife, and four others -- including a pilot and copilot -- were all on board. All are presumed dead.

The private company, based in Milan, Italy, has estimated annual sales of between $75 million and $100 million.

The brand, first created in 1953 as a knitwear workshop in Gallarte, Italy, has expanded from apparel to housewares, a fragrance line and a chain of hotels.

Stefano Tonchi, editor-in-chief of W magazine, called the Missonis "one of the most important Italian fashion families," crediting their move to Milan in the late 1960s with helping make the northern Italian city the fashion hub it is today.

Vittorio Missoni and his siblings took over the brand in 1996 with an eye toward marketing to a younger consumer.

The fashion house partnered with Target in 2011 to produce a more budget-friendly collection for the discount retailer, which caused Target's website to crash due to the high demand.

 Missoni, 58, ran the famed Missoni fashion house with his siblings, Luca and Angela. Neither sibling was on the plane.

Fashion icons Dolce, Gabbana convicted in Italy of tax crime

 "Fashion luminaries Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana were sentenced to prison in Italy Wednesday for failing to pay 40.4 million euros in taxes to the Italian government, their lawyer and a prosecutor said.

"This time it was not the case like the invoice for car repair," prosecutor Laura Pedio said of the crime for which the fashion duo was convicted. "This time it's serious, complicated, sophisticated tax fraud crime."

Both men were sentenced to one year and eight months in prison and, in addition to what they owe in taxes, told to pay a fine of 500,000 euros. Their lawyer, Massimo Dinoia, vowed that the defense plans to appeal the convictions as well as the related fines and sentences.

"Dolce and Gabbana will not go to jail now or ever," Dinoia said.

Four others associated with the upscale Dolce & Gabbana brand -- including Domenico's brother Alfonso Dolce and company tax consultant Luciano Patelli -- also face prison time, though Dinoia and Pedio did not know the length of all their sentences.

Ryan: According to the Salvation Army, [gay parents] deserve death. How do you respond to that, as part of your doctrine?

Craibe: Well, that’s a part of our belief system.

Ryan: So they should die.

Craibe: You know, we have an alignment to the Scriptures, but that’s our belief.

Ryan: You’re proposing in your doctrine that because these parents are gay, that they must die.

Craibe: Well, well, because that is part of our Christian doctrine –

Ryan: But how is that Christian? Shouldn’t it be about love?

Craibe: Well, the love that we would show is about that: consideration for all human beings to come to know salvation…

Major Bruce Harmer, the Army’s Communications and Public Relations Secretary recently issued the following passage from the group’s FAQ:

The Salvation Army encompasses a diverse community with a wide range of opinions on human sexuality and other subjects. The senior leadership of The Salvation Army continues to reflect on Christian and Biblical tradition, and especially on the themes of justice and mercy, to further deepen the understandings of our own members and build a more healthy relationship with the GLBT community. We pledge to continue to offer services to all and to treat each person with dignity, respect and non-discrimination.

Please, don’t give us the non-apology apology, Major Harmer (how’s that for a fitting name?) We practically invented it. If you choose to believe the Major that the Salvation Army doesn’t hold any animus toward the LGBT community, that’s your choice. Me, I'm gonna donate my old shmatas to Goodwill.
