HEPATITIS C "SERIAL INFECTOR" INDICTED

"David Kwiatkowski, a former lab technician at Exeter Hospital in New Hampshire, had allegedly been stealing the Fentanyl syringes intended for patients, injecting his own arm and then refilling those empty syringes with another liquid-like saline, according to a statement from the United States Attorney's Office in New Hampshire.

Since Kwiatkowski tested positive for Hepatitis C in June 2010, he passed it on to the hospital patients who were injected with his used, saline-filled syringes, according to the affidavit.

The New Hampshire hospital lab technician indicted last week for infecting 31 people with Hepatitis C might have infected "tens of thousands" of patients in at least 13 hospitals, ABC News has learned..."

Sadly, New York is one of the places he worked as a medical tech. temp.

This may be a good time to get blood work if you have been in contact with a needle in a hospital in one of the states DAVID KWIATKOWSKI worked.

RAPPER /R&B SINGER, FRANK OCEAN, COMES OUT

Frank Ocean, an R&B singer who is part of the hip hop collective Odd Future and who has also written songs for Justin Bieber, John Legend and Beyoncé, came out on his blog last night.
Ocean writes in part:

In the last year or 3 I've screamed at my creator, screamed at the clouds in the sky, for some explanation. Mercy maybe. For peace of mind to rain like manna somehow. 4 summer ago, I met somebody. I was 19 years old. He was too. We spent that summer, and the summer after, together. Everyday almost… Sleep I would often share with him. By the time I realized I was in love, it was malignant. It was hopeless. There was no escaping.
The news comes just days after a review of Ocean's upcoming "Channel Orange" album claimed the singer "[opens] up about his sexuality on the album"

THANK YOU!

REHOBOTH BEACH, DELAWARE TRAGEDY

An accident shortly after 2 a.m. on July 1 in which a motorist struck and killed a bicyclist minutes after the two left the same bar has shocked and saddened many in Rehoboth’s LGBT community.

Brian C. Meegan, 38, who was employed as a bartender at L Bar, a popular gay bar on Rehoboth Avenue just outside the Rehoboth town limits, allegedly slammed into the rear of a bicycle ridden by PNC Bank loan officer Russell “Rusty” Henman, 44, while driving his 2003 Jeep Wrangler, according to a statement released by Delaware State Police.

Russell Herman, gay news, Washington Blade
Russell ‘Rusty’ Henman
Police said they arrested Meegan a short time after he pulled into a CVS Pharmacy parking lot. News media photos show him being held in handcuffs by police at the site of the parking lot.
“The front of Meegan’s Jeep struck the rear of Henman’s bike causing him to be ejected onto the hood of the Jeep,” the police statement says. “Henman was carried approximately 400 feet until the Jeep struck a curb and stopped, throwing Henman onto the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene,” the statement says.
State Police charged Meegan with one count each of first-degree vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of a collision resulting in death, driving under the influence.
John Meng, co-owner of L Bar, disputes the police claim that Mee of alcohol, failure to report an accident resulting in injury or death, no proof of motor vehicle insurance and inattentive driving.egan was intoxicated, saying other employees who observed him during his work shift on the night of the accident say he wasn’t drinking.
People who know Meegan said he recently moved to Rehoboth from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and began working as a bartender at L Bar.
Meegan posted a message on his Facebook page at 5:13 p.m. on June 30 saying, “Working [a] double today, ready for Super July Fourth Week.” People familiar with L Bar said he was referring to working a double shift at the establishment, which included the afternoon happy hour period and the evening shift. His evening shift on June 30 would have extended past midnight to July 1, the morning of the accident.
The accident that took Henman’s life took place where Rehoboth Avenue merges into Route 1 Coastal Highway. Many Rehoboth residents have noted that bicycle traffic has increased in recent years. Some have called for more clearly designated bike lanes, especially in the location where Rehoboth Avenue merges with Route 1.
Others have called for more public awareness of programs aimed at helping people with alcohol related problems. Elkins said Camp Rehoboth hosts a weekly Alcoholics Anonymous meeting on Thursdays in which 60 or more people participate.
“There are a number of AA meetings daily in the Rehoboth area,” he said.

SYLVESTER STALLONE SON DIES - 36

"Sage Stallone, the 36-year-old son of actor Sylvester Stallone, died Friday, his lawyer said during a phone interview with Los Angeles TV station KNBC.
A body was found at Sage Stallone's Los Angeles home, Los Angeles police told CNN, without identifying who had died..."

ROBERT BLAKE---MY NEW HERO!

Tonight I watched one of the most riveting moments on television: Piers Morgan interviewing Robert Blake.
WATCH IT!!!! DO NOT DEPRIVE YOURSELF OF THIS HISTORICAL INTERVIEW ON CNN

Like so many people I doubted Robert Blakes's innocence till tonight.

Intellectually I am aware the media manipulates opinions all the time depending on what news shows you watch, what publications you read and the overall gossip or trending "hot topics" various shows discuss on television & in the cyber world.

Maybe because Blake never took the stand I misread that as lawyers playing cover-up. I sincerely apologize for my lack of fairness to Mr. Blake. He's either the best actor who ever lived or he's telling the truth--I'll go with the latter (watch it & decide for yourself).

First of all why would he deny telling the truth at age 79? One cannot be tried for the same crime twice.
Regardless of all the evidence which have proven his innocence, he convinced me of any wrongdoing tonight by his behavior (which many are calling rants and I'm calling it honest, unedited anger at being called a liar).

As an extra bonus, and one which I got great pleasure of seeing, he put that pompous asshole, Piers Morgan, in his place -over & over again! You go Robert!

While he was cursing and making Piers squirm in fear and confusion he was giving a one, two punch loudly but honestly, of which Piers never recovered. That's how we do it in New Jersey (Blake was born in Nutley, NJ*).

When the truth is on our side in this great state we all become lawyers. We are an intelligent state -whoever is thinking "Jersey Shore" right now is unaware of what an amazing state NJ really is and needs to read about the real natives and the enormous contribution we make. We thrive in entertainment (most of the great actors have come from NJ, the movies started here), education, politics, nature, location, finances,etc.--but I digress.

This British tabloid, wannabe newscaster, Piers Morgan, is accustomed to looking down his nose at his guests and at so many contestants before on AGT-well buddy you got not only a taste of your own medicine with Blake but an entire bottle full. Drink it!

Piers, you're a detached,  overall know-it-all  wannabe  brand; but be grateful,  this one interview will put that predictable show of yours on the map once & for all. You are fully aware of this since you showed the interview twice in one week. Stupid you're not. Arrogant? For sure!

*SIDEBAR: Blake was born Michael James Vincenzo Gubitosi--lol,  on my birthday--lol...

RICHARD D. ZANUCK DIES-77

"Los Angeles (CNN) -- Oscar-winning producer Richard D. Zanuck, whose films include "Driving Miss Daisy," "Jaws," and Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland," died Friday at age 77 of a heart attack in Los Angeles, his publicists said..."

Producer Richard D. Zanuck Dies at 77

His legendary father was  Darryl F. Zanuck. He was an American producer, writer, actor, director and studio executive who played a major part in the Hollywood studio system as one of its longest survivors (the length of his career being rivalled only by that of Adolph Zukor). He earned three Academy Awards during his tenure. He ran Warner Brothers Studio before taking his expertise to 20th Century Fox.

He was at Fox when my favorite movie, "ALL ABOUT EVE", was produced & won best picture in 1950.

There is even a nod to him in the actual script/movie.

"AMERICAN IDOL" MINUS LOPEZ & TYLER

"Jennifer Lopez is the second judge in two days to say she's leaving "American Idol."

Her representative, Mark Young, said Friday that Lopez is ending her time on television's most popular show after two years. Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler said the same thing on Thursday..."

I'm not sure how I feel about this news. I still like "American Idol" (though less so than before). I still like Lopez & Tyler though I think what they amass in charm & likability they lack in constructive criticism-especially Steven Tyler.

I hated Simon Cowell's brash critiques on these poor youngsters--I often times agreed w./ his assessment but hated his delivery. He was pompous & mean; however Tyler was too predictably kind ( I would get the feeling he zoned out & just repeated the same rhetoric many times).

Jennifer Lopez was better at giving specific areas for the contestants to work on so maybe she was a good maternal buffer for a Tyler replacement; alas, it won't be.

Actually, last season Randy Jackson came off as the "mean" one--go figure...

The show needs a straight shooter w/ experience in the music business. They use Jimmy Iovine as a mentor, why not bring him to the judges table?

APARTMENTS IN NYC FOR RENT-TINY, YOU CARE?

CAN YOU LIVE IN A COMPACT /TINY APT. (ABOUT THE SIZE OF 2 PARKING SPACES) JUST TO LIVE IN NYC?

MAYOR MICHAEL BLOOMBERG SAYS, "WHY NOT?"

( I believe the rents are in the $2000.00-$2700.00  range)

Mayor Michael Bloomberg on Monday invited developers to propose ways to turn a Manhattan lot into an apartment building filled mostly with what officials are calling "micro-units" — dwellings complete with a bathroom, built-in kitchenette and enough space for a careful planner to use a fold-out bed as both sleeping space and living room.
If the pilot program is successful, officials could ultimately overturn a requirement established in 1987 that new apartments here be at least 400 square feet.

For critics assuming this is an askew version of tenement living, modern-day building codes and improved refrigeration and public health have changed what it means to live small, Bloomberg said. A typical mid-19th century tenement apartment on Manhattan's Lower East Side might have been larger than one of the micro-units, measuring 325 square feet, but would have typically housed families with multiple children. The micro-units are to be leased only to one- or two-person households.

WE'RE NOT ALONE IN THIS CONCEPT

In places within the US & abroad the concept is certainly not innovative.

Similar programs have been proposed in other cities. In San Francisco, developers are seeking permission to rent out apartments as small as 150 square feet.

INSPIRATION: CHILDREN NEED YOU

Her name is LUMA MUFLAH and she's a teacher, savior, mother, friend, sister and leader.
She wants to build a school - PLEASE HELP HER OUT...

watch "LENDING A HAND TO REFUGEES IN AMERICA" on youtube

Or go to the "SUNDAY MORNING" episode from July 8, 2012

CBS Sunday Morning, shows how out-of-school factors impact a particular population: refugee families. The story is about Luma Muflah, who started soccer league for refugee children living in Clarkston, Georgia, calling them the “Fugees.” When they started asking Luma for help with their homework, she soon realized that the children were facing a host of other non-school factors that made school a challenge. She launched the Fugees Academy, a school for refugee children, which she hopes to expand to a 19-acre comprehensive and permanent school facility, called the Fugees Village.

LUMA JUST BOUGHT 19 ACRES OF LAND TO HOPEFULLY BUILD A SCHOOL.

HELP HER PLEASE ...THANK YOU :)

For more information:

The Fugees website lists different monetary amounts and what kind of assistance those dollars amounts can offer. You can provide items on the Fugees wishlist. You can buy Fugees merchandise as well.
Perhaps the best and easiest thing to do, though, is to just raise awareness of what Luma Mufleh is trying to do for the forgotten refugee kids in the US. Follow @fugeesfamily on Twitter, say hello, say thank you, and be inspired.

UFO-65 YR. ANNIVERSARY--ROSWELL

I have always believed that it would be extremely arrogant of us to think we're the only living creatures in the universe. Furthermore, I believe our government is privy to information we average citizens are not; after all, cover-ups are uncovered constantly. Just in our very own galaxy the possibilities are endless, never mind in the entire spectrum. I'm not a UFO freak but I'm not a nysayer either. I find it really interesting.

Yesterday marked the first nation wide dialogue from a man living in Roswell, New Mexico, 65 yrs. ago.
Officer Walter Haut first reported his findings on July 8, 1947.

The museum-near the site of the 1947 finding-prospers today & welcomes thousands of tourists. Though radio, television and especially movies have depicted other life forms comically or fear-based (were they Reuplicans?--lol) accounts, we gotta at least have an open mind about it.

NANU-NANU...

Having read a bit about the UFO phenom ("Communion" being my favorite), I find it interesting that all the accounts resonatewith similarities among them (type of alien, experiences, etc.). Hmmmmmmmm...

 Communion: A True Story

Whatever!

I think their fashion is cutting edge and form fitting and many Hollywood celebrities are starting to look like them anyway (the pulled Asian looking eyes & stretched, overly taut skin). Maybe they know something we don't, maybe just maybe they want to be ready when the aliens come to look like them to fit in.
Is our beloved Joan Rivers really an alien?
I am certainly ready for a more peaceful animal then we've become. Is the answer "out there"?

9 YR. OLD HEADS TO COLLEGE

At 9 yrs. old I wanted to compete on "WONDERAMA" to win a bicycle or be Robin to my buddy's batman.
This 9 yr. old is going to college (I had just learned my times table) WTF?

This genius boy  is getting his college degree. He gives college lectures and can balance your checkbook. His name is Tanishg Abraham.

And what he loves is learning. It's a love that's often put him at the head of his class at American River College, and it's often put him literally in front of his class too, giving guest lectures on everything from paleontology to astronomy.

"I don't mind interacting with other college students. I kind of like it, too."

Tanishq says his favorite subjects are the sciences.

He learned his letters before some kids learned how to talk.

At age 4, he was inducted into the Genius Society Mensa.

YOU GO INSPIRE YOUNG MAN!!!

ERANEST BORGNINE DIES --95

Actor Ernest Borgnine dead at 95...

One of those legendary character actors has died from kidney failure.

Once the viewer caught Borgnine in a late movie you knew you had bumped into an old friend. He had that special quality of vulnerability & gruff.

Winning an Oscar for "Marty" in 1955, he showed his versatility in different roles. Most people remember his energentic charcater in television's "McHales Navy" (actually it was IN the Navy that Borgnine began taking an interest in theater. He continued to bee seen on stage, screen & a lot of television-even on "E.R."

Though married 5 times I remember Tova & her skin care products as a kid & find it terribly  campy (she survives him).

"Martha Marcy May Marlene"-(2011)-MOVIE

My curiosity in seeing this film is that I had never seen Elizabeth Olsen( the prettiest sister of the Olsen twins) in anything and had heard good word-of-mouth about her acting chops.

SHE WAS AMAZING!

The movie itself  is painfully slow paced. Although I'm fascinated by cults (just like drag queens, I love to see what makes them tick-it's hard to wrap my head around both), yet this was a boring expose of the cult Olsen's character belongs. I don't recommend it unless you want to see a study in good acting from everyone (John Hawkes, Hugh Dancy, Snand Paulson, et al.). I found the script uninteresting and the directing average at best. Only one lighting dissolve was really brilliant. Although promoted as a psychological thriller it evoked melodrama at times (as in the boat scene).

Elizabeth Olsen is among this generation of brilliant actors, such as:  Emma Stone, Bryce Howard, Ben McKenzie, the Gummer sisters (Meryl's daughters) and especially Shailene Woodley.

I hate to see actors acting-lol.

Let me explain, if the actor appears to be reading from the script, not allowing themselves  to submerge within the character, I'm disappointed and bored. Or if a star repeats the same emotions, reactions, mannerisms in every movie, then, to me, they are not interesting actors-simply stars--yawn!

Few are Viola Davis, Helen Mirren, Edward Norton, Meryl Streep and the like (in them you never see the acting, they ARE the characters they play, which makes them fascinating when examining their entire body of work).
The other side of that coin are Julia Roberts, George Clooney, etc. (likable but no surprises EVER!) They are REDUNDANT -no element of depth and/or surprise. People pay to see THEM not a new character. It's always been that way in Hollywood.

"HAPPY DAYS" CAST VERY HAPPY-$$$

'Happy Days' actors settle lawsuit with CBS

Ironically, Paramount Pictures was just in the news for celebrating 100 yrs of entertainment. Now they're part of CBS settling $$$ with stars Anson Williams, Don Most, Marion Ross and Erin Moran. they just settled a $10 million lawsuit for CBS neglecting them $$$ for merchandising carrying their images throughout all these years.

Of the cast members, Moran stands to benefit most from the settlement. She has been the subject of tabloid reports that she and her husband have been living in a trailer in Indiana since losing her home to foreclosure in California. While Most, Williams and Ross continue to act or direct, acting work dried up for Moran, who did not return a call from CNN.

GO CELEBRATE WITH A MALTED & A DRIVE-IN MOVIE FOR JUSTICE AT LAST!

DON GRADY DIES-68

Don Grady- Don Louis Agrati (June 8, 1944 – June 27, 2012)

ROBBIE OF "MY THREE SONS" FAME LEAVES QUITE A LEGACY!

Yes he was Robbie and one of the break-out stars of the original Mouseketeers, yet his legacy is far reaching.

Most of my generation fell for the heartthrob eldest son of Fred MacMurray but he was an extremely talented singer/songwriter. He even wrote the theme song for "The Phil Donahue Show"--who knew?

He later composed music for television, theater and films, and the TV series “The Kid-a-Littles”. He wrote for the 1985 film “Girls Just Want to Have Fun.” He was a co-writer of “Keep the Dream Alive,” which was recorded by Herbie Hancock, Della Reese and others for the Jazz to End Hunger project.

A handsome ,charming and talented guy, Don Grady- you will be missed & always remembered.

"I LOVE LUCY" STAR DIES

Doris Singleton or as we "I LOVE LUCY"  fans remember her,  Carolyn Appleby (though at times it was Lillian Appleby, no one knows why) She played Lucy Ricardo's frenemy, has sadly died.

Born Dorthea Singleton (September 28, 1919 – June 26, 2012)--a  Brooklyn, NY gal.

During a guest appearance on the radio show My Favorite Husband in 1948 she met Lucille Ball and began their long professional relationship. She had continuing roles on I Love Lucy playing Carolyn Appleby in ten episodes.

My favorites were : "Lucy in Connecticut" , "The Club Election" and "Lucy Tells the Truth" (watch & die laughing).

Singleton continued her acting career -ironically, she wanted to be a singer & a dancer-well into her elder years.

We loved Lucy but we loved Carolyn too.

______________________________________________________

An ironic twist happened 2 days after Singleton died, Don Grady (Robbie on "My Three Sons" died too). Singleton had been on his show several times opposite him. There goes that six-degree thing again!

ANDY GRIFFITH DIES--86

DIDN'T WE ALL WANT HIM TO BE OUR DAD?

He was such a natural that I really believed we were peeking into Opie & his world on "THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW" and not a movie set (then again I was very young & a bit naive).

Andrew Samuel "Andy" Griffith (June 1, 1926 – July 3, 2012) was an American actor, director, producer, Grammy Award-winning Southern-gospel singer, and writer

(The Andy Griffith Show (1960–1968) Griffith starred as Sheriff Andy Taylor in The Andy Griffith Show . The show took place in the fictional town of Mayberry, North Carolina, where Taylor, a widower, was the sheriff and town sage. The show was filmed at Desilu Studios, with exteriors filmed at Forty Acres in Culver City, CA.)

Later I realized what an amazing actor he was in movies such as "A FACE IN THE CROWD".

Of course another generation remembers him as the no nonsense MATLOCK (  legal drama, starring Andy Griffith in the title role of criminal defense attorney Ben Matlock. The show originally aired from September 23, 1986 to May 8, 1992).

He died of a heart attack, after years of suffering from other illnesses, including coronary artery disease. He had high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

ODD: He was buried Tuesday morning less than five hours after he died.

HE WILL BE MISSED!--R I P
