AFTER SPENDING 6 LONG YEARS IN JAIL FOR A CRIME HE DID NOT COMMIT, HE IS NOT ONLY A FREE MAN BUT A SUCCESSFUL FOOTBALL PLAYER AND PILLAR OF HIS COMMUNITY.
" Imagine the smartest kid from your high school dropping out as a senior and spending six years in prison. Then imagine that kid trying to pass, say, the state bar exam upon his release at age 26.
We wouldn't expect that kid to fare very well, no matter how well he might have fared back in high school.
Brian Banks, wrongly imprisoned for six years following high school, is attempting something similar. Instead the bar exam, he's making a run at the NFL -- his first taste of organized football since high school a decade ago. I just finished watching " THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JAY LENO" with Banks as his guest. Banks is finally able to tell his tale of innocence. While I do believe he is innocent & my heart is breaking for his loss time, family & personal pain and the shame & frustration he endured for 6 years, I still want to know why him? Why did this girl single him out of everyone in the school to accuse him of rape. I do not believe he raped her -she is recorded by a private investigator saying so-but why Banks of all people?I always want to hear both sides.
What really pisses me off is that this horrible human being not only had the power to put banks in jail (he escaped 41 yrs through good legal council) but she was rewarded 1.5 million dollars. WTF???
